Passage is a sculptural environment inspired by the rich history of this location. An elongated neon-lit canoe, a mural mosaic featuring the site's timeline, a paddle wheel kiosk and the rail-like features of the bridge are all connections to its past.
The confluence of White Oak and Buffalo Bayous created a natural portage for commerce and transport long ago; the merging of the water gave rise to the flow of modern progress. From the first inhabitants traveling by canoe to the barges and paddle wheels of early Houston, the Bayou has churned with activity. The water were witness to the inspirations and imaginations that transformed these banks many times over, passing from one generation to the next.
