Credit by Examination (AP/CLEP)
The University of Houston – Downtown accepts up to 24 hours of credit by examination. Nationally recognized standardized examinations such as the College Level Examination Program (CLEP), College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) program, and the International Baccalaureate Programme may be used. All credit by examination will be considered equivalent to transfer credit and will not be included in GPA calculation.
Requesting AP/CLEP/IB Credit
To obtain AP/CLEP credit, contact the College Board www.collegeboard.com to request your score to be sent to UHD. Our school code is 6922. Your scores must meet the minimum acceptable AP/CLEP scores as listed in UHD Catalog. View acceptable scores and requirements for CLEP/AP.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) is an international program of courses and examinations offered at the high school level. Please visit www.ibo.org to order Official IB Transcripts. View UHD acceptable scores and requirements for IB.
- IB graduates can request that their results are sent to a university directly by completing the appropriate transcript request form and sending it to the address provided on the form.
