What are the requirements for the program?

To join the program, you must be referred by a financial services institution, have received an undergraduate business degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0, or currently enrolled in an undergraduate business program with no more than 12 semester hours remaining.


Can I substitute my education and experience for any of the modules?

Unfortunately, we do not offer waivers to modules based upon education or experience. You must successfully complete all seven modules, no exceptions.


Do I have to participate face-to-face and online?

The program is delivered using a hybrid learning environment that combines weekly face-to-face and online lessons. Both are required for completion of the program.


What is the nature of the online lessons?

The online lessons are designed to keep you involved through reading selections and videos which should be reviewed before attending the face-to-face sessions. There will also be weekly graded assignments that must be completed online.


Do I need to purchase any books or materials for any of the modules?

All required material will be provided and is included in the tuition cost.


Can I get Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for this certificate program?

Unfortunately, FAFSA is not available towards the CCC. This Certificate is a part of a continuing education program, and financial aid is only offered for academic courses.


What is the attendance policy for the face-to-face classes?

If you miss more than 3 face-to-face classes, you automatically fail the program.


Are there any resources available to assist me in career placement?

Please visit www.uhd.edu/career/search. There are workshops available throughout the week and some Fridays. The website has resume and cover letter handouts that you might find helpful. Some services, such as individual appointments with career counselors are not available at this time.


How do I obtain a receipt to submit to my employer for reimbursement?

After the program, we will provide a letter in the form of a .pdf file for your employer, stating whether you successfully completed the program. Please contact the CCC Department at ccc@uhd.edu for a copy of your letter. You may also call us at 713-221-5015.


Does the Commercial Credit Certificate award any academic credits from UHD?

The Commercial Credit Certificate is not a degree seeking program. It is offered by the Continuing and Professional Education division of the UHD College of Business. It is intended for professionals who want to gain the understanding and abilities that bank officers need for making informed decisions in the highly dynamic commercial lending environment. Upon completion of all required courses, students will receive the UHD Commercial Credit Certificate. The successful completion of this program does not award credit for UHD undergraduate or graduate degrees.


Are students following noncredit continuing education programs registered as UHD students?

No, students following UHD continuing education programs are not registered UHD students. They are following noncredit programs and certificates offered by UHD’s continuing education division.


As a CCC student, am I permitted access to UHD’s free student services, i.e. gym facilities, Wi-Fi, library?

CCC students are UHD continuing education students; they are not UHD regular students following an academic degree. The tuition of UHD continuing education certificates–unlike the tuition of UHD degree programs–does not include access to UHD’s student services, i.e. gym facilities, Wi-Fi, and library.


What do I do if I need technical support for the online component in Blackboard?

Technical Support: Blackboard is the online learning environment used for teaching. Compatible browsers are Internet Explorer 8 or Firefox 3.6 working on Windows XP operating system. Mac users will need the newest Google Chrome, Safari or Firefox browsers version 3.6-5.0 and an updated version of Java. Videos will be published in the courses, installation of Windows Media Player and Microsoft Silverlight are necessary. Visit Microsoft Download Center for free downloads.
