Today more than ever, students must prepare for the unique challenges in a rapidly changing global business environment. Corporate executives rely heavily on key individuals in their organization who have a keen business sense, and who possess knowledge and technical skills beyond the average business student.

The department offers a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with major programs in Accounting, Finance, Enterprise Information Systems, and International Business. UHD students may also earn minors with concentrations in Accounting, Enterprise Information Systems, Economics, Finance and International Business. A number of scholarships are available to deserving students.

The programs are designed to prepare the students so that they can compete effectively and successfully in a professional capacity. The faculty in the department is known for high quality instruction and scholarly research activity. The department maintains close ties to the Houston business community. These relationships provide a networking base upon which the students may begin to build and manage their careers. Several prominent employers in the Houston area, such as BMC Software, CITGO, EPCO, ExxonMobil, Ernst & Young, and Deloitte have either offered internships or hired our graduates.
