Commencement ceremonies take place in December and May. Summer graduates participate in the December commencement ceremonies. Students completing their coursework in the Winter Term may participate in the December commencement, and students completing their requirements during the May Term may participate in the May commencement ceremony.
In order to participate in commencement, you must have an application on file with your college.
Commencement information will be sent to your GatorMail address one week from the last day to drop classes.
Verify your eligibility to participate in commencement:
All students: Pay the mandatory $50 graduation/diploma fee to the Cashier’s Office.

Diploma Information:
Diplomas are sent through Certified Mail to the address indicated in your UH-Downtown records, unless otherwise specified. If no one is available to sign for your diploma upon delivery, it will be returned to the Post Office and held for approximately four (4) weeks. If you are not able to pick up your diploma from the Post Office within that time-frame, it will be returned to UH-Downtown's Registrar's Office where you will be able to pick up your diploma in person with a photo ID. Please call the Register’s Office at 713-221-8999 prior to picking up your diploma.
