Teaching and Research Interests:
Composition pedagogy, basic writing, ESL writing methodology, lesbian-gay-bisexual-transgender (LGBT) issues in the classroom, homophobia in the classroom and its effects on LGBT student writers, anti-homophobic pedagogy, homophobic/heterosexist discourse. American realism and naturalism, Edith Wharton.

I'm currently working on a "homophobic script" theory from a discourse analysis perspective which seeks to account for the persistence of anti-LGBT stereotypes and homophobic speech over time.
