Welcome to the Composition Program at the University of Houston-Downtown. Click on the link above to the Composition Website, which provides instructors with information about UHD's composition courses, including basic principles of the courses, expected student outcomes, recommended pedagogical practices, departmental and university resources, and relevant policies.
The UHD Composition Program web site is designed to serve as a central resource for instructors. It will help you plan courses, construct syllabi, and teach students in a manner consistent with principles and practices in the field of composition.
In addition to general course information, on the course-specific pages, you will find specific strategies to help you in the classroom. Also, some of the material is ready for you to cut and paste for distribution to your students.
