For as long as I can remember, Political Science has been my center of attention and I have found over the years that well developed writing skills is the key to success. English is a subject that I enjoy very much and I have developed a deeper understanding of the mechanics over the years. As President of Gamma Alpha Omega Sorority Inc. Xi Chapter, writing memos, constitutions, and by laws have brought me back to my love of writing. Writing is in everything I do and is a large stepping stone towards my future career as a lawyer. I have always strived to be a lawyer because I enjoy the details, writings, court cases, and the history behind such a crucial profession.

Certifications: Hospital Accreditation (HACP 2009); Healthcare Quality (CPHQ 2011), ISO 9001:2008 (QSA International 2010); Lean Six Sigma (MSI 2014). I look forward to earning my bachelor’s degree in May, 2015. Although I took freshman composition almost 34 years ago, my career in nursing provided a number of experiences that have cemented in my mind the importance of effective writing. I spent 18 years working labor & delivery, followed by three years in IT implementing nursing documentation systems, and then nine years as a hospital administrator. I hope to use my experience in quality, process management, Lean Six Sigma, and change management to assist my fellow students to communicate with clarity. I want to expand my experience as a writing and reading tutor by teaching students how to make improvements for their own writing. I believe in the student’s ability to create their own voice for writing academically in college and the workplace. I look forward to meeting with students here at UHD to assist them through their writing experiences.
