Welcome to the Bachelor of Social Work Program page!
At UHD, we understand that social work isn't "just a job." It is, rather, a calling pursued by individuals passionate about helping diverse individuals and communities on a local, state and national level. In addition, our program is accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE), which is the accrediting body for social work programs in the United States.
Social work is a self-fulfilling career path that takes practitioners into settings such as schools, hospitals, mental health facilities and juvenile justice systems, etc. where they perform a variety of tasks such as case management, client advocacy, and counseling and make a tangible difference in the lives of diverse individuals and communities.

Today's social service challenges are diverse, complicated issues that require educated, unique resolutions from individuals passionate about their work. Issues can range anywhere from delivery of public services to protecting our environment for future generations. Potential employers are as varied as the issues, and include governmental agencies on a local, state and national level, law enforcement, academia, medical or public health facilities, nonprofit and for-profit corporations, etc.
