The University of Houston-Downtown encourages international exchange programs for its faculty and students. The Department of Natural Sciences has active research and educational collaborations with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, the University of Gdansk, and the Technical University of Lodz.
Generous funding from the Brown Foundation in Houston has initiated a Geosciences field study exchange wherein Polish students from Adam Mickiewicz University (Poznan) came to UHD for 3 weeks in the Summer I semester (see here). Next summer, UHD students will be doing geology field work in Poland. Interested students should contact Dr. Kenneth Johnson or Dr. Akif Uzman.
UHD’s International Studies in Science (ISS) program includes research and educational experiences in Poland - Biology/Biotechnology and Environmental Sciences with the University of Gdansk and in Physical Chemistry and Nanomaterials with the Technical University of Lodz. The program also supports international research and exchange opportunities in other locations such as Panama and Sweden depending on current research interests of faculty..
