The courses specified for this degree are consistent with those suggested by the Committee on Professional Training of the American Chemical Society for a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry with a special focus on Biochemistry. This degree is particularly appropriate for students interested in the following areas: dentistry, medicine and related fields that require post-graduate study. Students are required to participate in an appropriate field experience or research activity as part of their curriculum to satisfy graduation requirements for this degree.
The approved degree plan for this program will be determined through consultation among the student, his/her advisor in the Department of Natural Sciences, and the chairperson of the Department of Natural Sciences. A minimum of 120 hours of university-level course work is required to complete all graduation requirements.
