BAAS in Applied Administration


The mission of the BAAS-AA Advising Office is to provide students with the information and guidance necessary to earn a Bachelor of Arts and Applied Sciences in Applied Administration degree at the University of Houston-Downtown. Advisors assist prospective and current students with course selections, transcript evaluations and degree planning.
What are the requirements for Admission to the BAAS-AA Program?
Students must meet the following criteria to be eligible for admission to the BAAS-AA program:

  1. Hold an Associate of Applied Science degree that includes an integrated block of workforce development courses.
  2. Have a GPA of 2.25 or higher from the institution most recently attended.
  3. Satisfactorily complete all Texas Success Initiative (TSI) testing requirements.
  4. Have no account holds at University of Houston-Downtown.

 How do I declare my BAAS-AA major?

A student must be admitted to the BAAS-AA program before declaring a major. Upon admission to the BAAS-AA Program, students will receive instructions via GatorMail to schedule an advising appointment in order to declare a major.
A student may be provisionally accepted into the program if he or she has not completed all Texas Common Core curriculum requirements if all other program requirements are fulfilled. Provisional students must meet have an advisor’s approval prior to registration each semester until the core requirements are complete.
All other students are granted access to register for courses without advisor approval, provided that they maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.25 in all AA classes and meet prerequisite requirements for each course.

  6. Select Major and Submit

How Do I Make an Appointment? 

Advisors are available by e-mail, phone and appointment. Please e-mail or call 713-223-7992 to schedule an appointment. Avoid long waits; contact an advisor before the busy pre-registration period.
