UHD Connections: Mentoring Program

U.H.D. Connections: Field Trip

Mysteries of the Unseen World in 3D
Mysteries of the Unseen World transports audiences to places on this planet that they have never been before, to see things that are beyond their normal vision, yet literally right in front of their eyes. It reveals phenomena that can’t be seen with the naked eye, taking audiences into earthly worlds secreted away in different dimensions of time and scale.
High-speed and time-lapse photography, electron microscopy, and nanotechnology are just a few of the advancements in science that now allow us to see a whole new universe of things, events, creatures, and processes we never even knew existed and now give us new “super powers” to see beyond what is in front of us.
Visually stunning and rooted in cutting-edge research, Mysteries of the Unseen World leaves audiences mesmerized as they begin to understand the enormity of the world they can’t see, a world that exists in the air they breathe, on their own bodies, and in all of the events that occur around them minute-by-minute, and nanosecond-by-nanosecond. And with this understanding comes a new appreciation of the wonder and possibilities of science.
Join us for a FREE Field Trip to the Museum of Natural Science to see a whole new world open to us thanks to cutting-edge science and technology making the invisible visible, affecting our lives in ways we can’t even imagine. Think what you see around you is all there is? Think again! (FREE LUNCH to follow at Treebeards Restaurant in Market Square)
WHEN? Friday, March 21st
What time will we leave? How will we get there? Meet in front of the UHD bookstore at 8:30 a.m. to get your FREE MetroRail Ticket. We will leave UHD promptly at 8:45 a.m.
When will we return? We will leave the museum to return to UHD by MetroRail at approximately 11:30 p.m. A FREE LUNCH OF YOUR CHOICE WILL FOLLOW AT TREEBEARDS RESTAURANT AT NOON.

U.H.D. Connections: Special Event

Would you like to enhance your Connections experience by networking with an upperclassman? Someone who is closer on the graduation path but who can also relate to what you’re experiencing?
Connections is hosting a lunch in your honor where you can meet some UHD upperclassmen who are interested in what you’re thinking and feeling. And the best thing is – your lunch is free! Come anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30p.m. and meet several UHD upperclassmen. They’re interested in learning about you, and you’ll probably enjoy knowing them. Share some of your thoughts and concerns or just take advantage of an opportunity to visit with some really awesome individuals who will probably offer some helpful tips about what it takes to be successful here at UHD./Come find out what it’s all about.
