Summer Fast Track Institute

About our Program

The Summer Fast Track Institute is designed to enhance study skills in reading, writing, and math to ensure student success in college and on the New TSI Assessment . Incoming UHD freshmen with New TSI Assessment scores falling below the college ready threshold in Math (336-349), Reading (342-350), or Writing (350-362) are eligible to participate.

Students who actively participate in this 3-week Institute will be able to:

  • Receive a cash stipend at the beginning of each week to cover personal expenses and a
    copy of the freshman common reader.
  • Interact with Reading, Writing, and Math faculty to learn high impact strategies designed to boost TSI scores and expose students to college level course work.
  • Become acquainted with the UHD campus, meet new friends and gain valuable knowledge about financial aid, resources, options for majors and careers, and more.
  • By-pass classes that do not count towards graduation
  • Register for college-level courses
  • Qualify to win a free laptop
  • Receive $250 (cash) stipend on the last day
  • Receive and additional $250 (cash) stipend in September, by placing out of 1 or more developmental courses!
