Distance education provides learners with a convenient and flexible opportunity to go to college in a nontraditional environment. It is one of the fastest growing areas of UHD and offers an attractive alternative to on campus classes.
From single courses to complete programs, UHD offers a growing number of educational opportunities through distance education for those seeking to advance in their chosen careers by meeting educational objectives. Online distance education courses are distributed via the Internet. Video conferencing allows for live video instruction at sites conveniently located near you. Hybrid instruction offers some of the convenience of online classes while providing face to face contact time with your professor. We also offer a number of face to face programs. Whether you choose Online Courses, Video conferencing, Hybrid instruction or Face to Face instruction at a distance site, you are a part of the UHD student body.
We hope that you will find the answers for many of your questions regarding our program within the DE website. However, please do not hesitate to contact us with any additional questions or concerns you may have.
The University of Houston-Downtown also recognizes that distance learners, like all students, need access to a host of services. DE provides support from student services to technical support to administrative assistance. You will find them on our website or upon entering your online classroom and of course you may talk to one of our DE advisors located at LSC Cy-Fair and LSC University Park. We also have an online DE Advisor who can be reached at 713-237-5454.
Thank you for your interest in distance education, and we look forward to serving you soon!
Sincerely,
