UHD Study Abroad Awards
The UHD Study Abroad Awards support academic studies that include a travel abroad component. The purpose of the University Study Abroad Award is to help increase the participation of UH-Downtown students in study abroad programs. Recipients are expected to be ambassadors of international understanding abroad and within the community upon their return. Applications are reviewed by a committee of administrators, faculty, and students.
Deadlines:
While applications are accepted year-round, response times will depend on committee meeting schedules and funds availability.
- If you are participating in a UHD-sponsored program, all application materials should be
submitted to the coordinator of that program according to deadlines established for that
program.
- For non-UHD programs, application materials should be clearly organized and submitted
to Spencer Lightsy, S629.
Award Amounts:
The actual award amount varies and is determined by the committee, based on the total number of applicants and funds available, individual qualifications, and the quality of the materials submitted. Preference will be given to those who have not received a study abroad award in the past.
