Freshman Students: Applicants who are, or soon will be, high school graduates, GED recipients, or home school graduates. Freshman applicants have fewer than 15 college-level credit hours earned.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) will temporarily implement a test optional policy for the SAT/ACT score requirement for freshman applicants until further notice. Students can submit their SAT and/or ACT scores with their application if they wish to do so, but UHD will also consider applications from students who do not submit their test scores. The test optional policy applies to both domestic and international freshman students applying to UHD for the Spring 2021, Summer 2021 and Fall 2021 terms.

The test optional policy provides a level of flexibility and removes a barrier that many students are facing due to testing center closures and cancellation of scheduled exams. Our team of Admissions experts are prepared to review each applicant carefully to ensure they meet our admission requirements.

Copies and faxes do not satisfy this requirement. If your high school does not rank class members, include a statement from your school stating its policy, a copy of your school's profile and grade distribution.

TREx or EDI/SPEEDE is the preferred method (your counselor or registrar will know if they are able to send this type of transcript), and will ensure the most prompt processing available.
We also accept electronic PDF transcripts (E-transcripts) sent directly from your high school transcript system, although this is not preferred for prompt processing.
If the transcript service your high school uses is requesting an email address, please use
If electronic transcript delivery is not an option at your high school, please request for an official transcript to be sent by mail in a sealed envelope directly to UHD to the mailing address below. UHD does not accept faxed transcripts or transcripts sent via email attachment by students.
