MANDATORY FEES
Student Service Fee - The Student Service Fee funds many university departments and services/activities. Some of the major recipients of funds are as follows: Financial Aid, Student Activities, Student Health Services, Counseling Center, Enrollment Services, Program Council, Placement Center, SGA and Dean of Students.
Records Office Fee - Unlimited transcripts and adds/drops
International Education Fee - State mandated charge on all students to create scholarships for Texas students traveling (studying) abroad.
Incidental Fee - The incidental fee is used to support the Academic Computer Labs.
Center Fee - The center fee funds the following: O’Kane Gallery, Information Center, Student ID's.
Lab Fee/Course Fee - Charges to offset the additional costs of conducting certain classes (mostly materials & equipment).
Library Fee - This fee supports the UHD library.
Extended Access & Support Fee - This fee funds the additional support needed to provide distance learning courses, online courses and Web CT. It replaces the previous Online Course fee and Face to Face course fee.
Advising Fee - This fee will be used to support important new joint initiatives from Academic Affairs and Student Services and Enrollment Management geared toward significantly strengthening student advising at UHD.

Excess Course Attempts Fee
• 3rd Time Repeat – This charge applies to any course that is repeated for the 3rd or more times.
• Over 18 Developmental hours – This charge applies to any developmental class taken after 18 hours of developmental classes have already been attempted. Developmental classes are MATH 0300, MATH 1300, ENG 1300, ENG 130A, RDG 1300.Excess Credit Hours Fee
This fee is applied to any course taken once a student has exceeded 30 or 45 credit hours over the number of credit hours required for their degree program. The 45 hour limit applies to students that initially enrolled during or after Fall 1999 but before Fall 2006. The 30 hour limit applies to students that initially enrolled during or after Fall 2006.
TUITION
Resident, Non-Resident, & International Tuition
State mandated tuition rates and University of Houston Board of Regents designated tuition rates.
Please note: The registration process at the University of Houston-Downtown begins in April with “pre-registration.” During this time, students can add classes to their schedule through eServices according to their assigned enrollment appointments. Tuition rates for the 2013 – 2014 academic year will be finalized after the UH System Board of Regents May action. Actual tuition bills will be calculated and posted to student accounts in June 2013. Registration is not complete and students are not officially enrolled until payment has been made on tuition and fee charges by the deadlines established for Fall 2013.

| Important Information Regarding Your Cost of Higher Education |

If you are receiving financial aid, your award will be automatically released to your account. (If you change your mind about attending UHD, you MUST drop your classes). If payment or financial aid has not been received by the payment deadline, your registration will be canceled. A $20 fee will be added to all checks returned for insufficient funds. All previous balances must be paid in full before a payment will be applied towards a current term. If you have any amount owed for a previous term, your payment will be automatically credited towards your previous term balance.
