UHD offers students the option to pay their tuition and fees in installments. Effective in the Fall 2012 semester, the number of installments has been increased to offer students the option of lower monthly payments. The number of installments available is determined by the date the installment plan is established and is equal to the number of months left until the end of the semester. For example – Registration begins in April and a student sets up an installment loan when they register – they will have a total of 9 payments. The total of tuition and fees is divided by the number of payments available with the first payment having an additional $24 loan set up fee ($16 if only 2 payments). For international students the plan is slightly different, the health insurance fee must be paid in full with the first payment. A chart showing the number of payments based on when the loan is set up for each semester is shown below.

The first payment must be made at the time the installment loan is created with the remaining payments due the first day of each month until the end of the semester. If a payment due date falls on a weekend or holiday, the due date will be the next business day. There is a 7 day grace period and any payment not posted to the student account by the 7th day of the month will have a $10 late fee assessed. If paying by mail, please allow sufficient time for the mail to be received and processed to avoid late fees. Any installment loan not paid in full by the end of the semester will be assessed a $50 default fee.
Accounts that remain unpaid will be sent to our external collection agency and the student will be responsible for all additional collection fees.

NOTE: If you do not get either page, go to the VIEW ACCOUNT SUMMARY page to see if the payment posted to your account. During peak times, the system may time out and drop the transaction. Check your bank account or card statement to see if you were charged. If you were charged and your UHD account does not show the payment, contact the cashier office for assistance – 713-221-8196, cashiers@uhd.edu.
TO AVOID ANY CHANCE OF LOSING YOUR CLASSES, DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO MAKE PAYMENT! THE ONLINE SYSTEM GETS VERY BUSY AND YOU COULD ENCOUNTER PROCESSING DELAYS OR PROBLEMS.
