First Year Advisory Council

 

Charge

Provides a forum for discussion of issues related to student success and retention during the critical first year of university study and advises the administration on policies, curriculum, programs, and organizational structures that impact student success.

Composition

Membership consists of: dean of University College; directors of freshman composition, freshman math and reading; one English faculty member nominated by the dean; chairs of the English and CMS Departments; directors of Academic Advising, Academic Support Services, Admissions, College Success Program (CSP), Financial Aid, Scholars Academy, and Testing Services; coordinator of Orientation; two student representatives chosen through Student Government Association procedures; two staff representatives chosen through Staff Council procedures.
