• Cannot simultaneously receive both a Hamill and Hammon scholarship award,
• Must be a student enrolled at UHD in at least 9 college credit hours during the Fall 2012 semester,
• Must be completely accepted as a student through the Office of Admissions prior to application deadline,
• Official transcripts must be submitted to the Office of Admissions to be considered,
• UHD students currently enrolled must have earned a total of 30 cumulative college credit hours with a minimum of 12 hours earned at UHD with a 2.75 GPA,
• Transfer students must have earned at least 60 cumulative college credit hours and have a 2.75 GPA,
• If selected, summer grades will be evaluated, and
• Must have received other than a dishonorable discharge from the Armed Forces.

In order to be considered for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

• Be a declared major in Applied Statistics, Computer Science, or Mathematics (B.A. or B.S.)
• Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Have completed at least 45 credit hours toward the degree, at least 30 or more are from UHD
• Be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours in the semester the scholarship is received
• The scholarship may be received up to 2 academic years.
  

Spring Semester....First Friday of November at 5pm

Fall Semester.........First Friday of April at 5pm

• Formal admittance to UHD – Open to all students
• Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours per semester
• Demonstrate significant financial need through FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid.)
• Submit an application for the Dr. Yung-Fa Chang Student Grants-in-Aid Award, including a brief essay that describes student need and any special qualifying circumstances.
• Include references from two teachers or UHD faculty who have personal knowledge of the student and his/her application for assistance.
• Be in pursuit of a first baccalaureate degree or a Master's degree as a full-time student, Maintain a grade point average of at least 2.75.
• Interview with members of the UHD Yung-Fa Chang Student Grants-in-Aid Committee.
• Participate in a home visit by representatives of the Student Grants-in-Aid Committee.
  

• Must have a minimum of 1 semester of course work remaining after receipt of scholarship.
• Must be a declared CIS major with degree plan on file.
• Must have a minimum 2.5 overall GPA.
• Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA in CIS courses.
• Must have a minimum of 12 hours of completed CIS courses.
• Must have a minimum of 30 hours at UHD.
• Must have at least 60 hours of courses.
• Must be currently enrolled in at least 9 hours.
• Must be registered during term of award.

Award Criteria:

• All College of Business majors are eligible.
• Must have a 3.0 GPA or above.
• Must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours at UHD, and a maximum of 96 credit hours.
• Must be currently enrolled in at least 9 hours.
• Must be registered during term of award.
• Must have a minimum of 1 semester of course work remaining after receipt of scholarship.

Requirements:

• Are enrolled in UHD full-time
• Demonstrate financial need
• Pursue the study of an Accounting Major or
• Are working towards a professional certification in Accounting
• Maintain a minimum of 3.25 GPA

Application must be filled out, two reference letters, biographical statement, including financial need, and returned to FACIS department located in Shea Street Building B410.

Scholarships are renewable and shall be awarded annually to provide financial aid and assistance to undergraduate students who fulfill the criteria.

To provide financial assistance for students to attend insurance and risk management industry conferences, purchase textbooks and other course materials, take professional designation exams, and participate in other activities designed to further their education and attain professional positions within the insurance and risk management industry.

Requirements

• Must be a declared IRM major
• Must be enrolled in IRM courses
• Minimum 2.5 GPA

Students must submit a proposal describing the purpose and amount of the financial assistance requested and outlining how the student expects to benefit from the financial assistance to the Director of the Insurance and Risk Management Center.

Scholarship amounts will vary depending upon the specific proposal and the availability of funding.

$1000 Annual Scholarship Awarded Fall ($500 in Fall, and $500 in Spring)

• Nominee will have achieved at least a junior status.
• Enrolled in the School of Business, majoring in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum grade point average of 3.5/4.0 in their major course of study and a 3.5/4.0 grade point average or better overall.
• Active participant in campus and community service work.
• Deserving students without significant other scholarships that can demonstrate financial need.
• A graduation date beyond May 2011.
• Attendance at the Scholarship Award Ceremony in February.

To be considered for nomination for this year’s scholarship from Financial Executives International, candidate will need to be approved by the School's Development Office and will need to complete the Nomination Form and to return it by the deadline.

• The student demonstrates an intent to become a Texas Certified Public Accountant and enter the accounting profession upon graduation.
• The student has a GPA of at least 3.25 in accounting and 3.0 overall and preference being given to students entering their 5th year in the accounting program.
• The student has taken a minimum of 12 hours in accounting courses.
• The student has declared accounting as his or her major
• The student is considered a full-time student (at least 12 hours per semester if an undergraduate and 9 hours per semester if a graduate student).
• If a student is not full-time and is taking a reduced course load, the student may still qualify, if during the semester that eligibility is determined, the student is in an internship program of at least 20 hours per week doing accounting related work. (However, special circumstances should be considered on a case-by-case basis where there is a reduced course load.)
• The student shall have demonstrated financial need, superior ethics, citizenship, and high scholastic achievement on campus based on the judgment of accounting faculty.
• The student must be planning to continue their education at UHD subsequent to the Spring 2012 semester.

Complete the Application Form and to return it no later than Friday, February 24, 2012, to the FACIS office in B414. Per the instructions, copy of transcript(s) and recommendation(s) must be submitted at the same time as the application.

Award Criteria:

The Accounting Education Foundation of the Texas Society of CPAs will provide accounting scholarships of $1,500 each to college seniors who are majoring in accounting and plan to become Texas CPAs.  Each scholarship will be renewable for one additional year if certain minimum requirements are met.  The Foundation Trustees feel that this program will lend support to attracting and retaining the best students to the accounting profession in Texas.
A committee of Foundation Trustees will select recipients.  You must have your Department Chair or Dean sign your application, as incomplete applications will not be considered.
Fill and complete the Application Form and to return it no later than March 10, 2010.

Students must read Criteria and complete the Application Form and to return it no later than April 9, 2010.

Two scholarships at $1,000 per year with $500 awarded for the Fall and Spring semesters.

Award Criteria:

• Must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student enrolled in a College of Business degree program, and in good standing.
• Must have transferred from a college in the Lone Star College System.
• Must be or have been affiliated with the International Cultural Exchange (ICx) as attested to by a representative of ICx.

• Must be a declared major in any field of study in the Bachelor of Business Administration degree program.
• Must have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours at UHD
  in the COB.
• Must be a continuing full-time degree seeking student in each
  of the two long semesters for which the scholarship was received.
• Must be a student in good standing with GPA between 2.75
  and 3.50 for: (1) all course work attempted and (2) all course work attempted at UHD.
• Must provide leadership potential through occupying a current leadership position or past leadership accomplishment that is verifiable.
• Must provide a letter of support for leadership potential or accomplishments.

• Have an overall GPA of 3.0 or greater
• Must be currently enrolled in at least 6 hours
