Job Summary

The Research Computing System Administrator facilitates access to high performance computing resources in support of faculty and student research; provides assistance with system setup, hardware and software maintenance of existing High Performance Computing (HPC) resources, helps manage HPC users, provides support and training for research faculty and students. Assists with developing requirements, documentation and procedures.

Duties

  • Assists with HPC hardware and Software maintenance including system configuration and set up
  • Responsible for user accounts setup and data management plan
  • Installs, updates, and configures research applications
  • Conducts faculty training and education
  • Provides research setup and assistance for faculty and help coordinate compliance requirements
  • Produces usage reports and analytics
  • Coordinates with other IT groups and Information security on compliance and security requirements

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computing, data science/analytics or science related degree

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related job experience

License/Certification:

  • None required

  • Higher education experience
  • Programming C++, R, Python or other data analytic programming
  • Basic system administration
  • Hardware and software installation and setup
