Applying for Graduation

 

Congratulations on reaching this milestone! Please read the information below and proceed with completing the online Application for Graduation. You must consult with your academic advisor and obtain confirmation that you are indeed a graduation candidate, before submitting this application for graduation.

To apply for graduation, please follow the steps below:

Go to www.uhd.edu/eservices

 

  1. Select "My Graduation Application"
  2. Enter your UHD ID number and your PIN
  3. Proceed with applying for graduation

 

Completing this online application for graduation does not mean you have been approved as a graduation candidate. Your submission will be forwarded to your academic college for review.  You will be contacted by your college regarding the receipt of your application and again regarding your graduation approval status.


We encourage you to contact your college and academic advisor for additional regarding specific graduation requirements:

 

An Application for Graduation must be filed for the term of intended graduation (e.g., Fall, Winter, Spring, May, Summer I, or Summer III) and prior to the last day identified in the Graduation Application Dates section of the Academic Calendar for the term of intended graduation.

As a part of your application for graduation you will be charged a non-refundable graduation fee of $50. If this application is denied or you do not complete the degree and graduation requirements successfully, you will be required to submit another application for graduation and repay the $50 graduation fee.

 

The Online Application for Graduation has seven (7) steps. Please allow 15-20 minutes to successfully complete the online application for Graduation in its entirety. You will need to provide your credit card information for payment purposes at the end of the process.

  1. Personal Information: Review your personal information and make any necessary updates (e.g. mail, phone and/or email address).
  2. Survey: As a graduating senior, we ask that you take a few moments to reflect on your time at the University of Houston-Downtown. The information from your questionnaire responses will assist us in improving recruitment efforts, student services support, and event programming of Houston-Downtown.
  3. Graduation Application: The application for graduation should be completed with the degree-granting college of your major. Confirm your current UHD course enrollment and any course enrollment(s) (e.g., a prior grade of "I" in a course, a non-UHD course) that would, to the best of your knowledge, enable you to complete your remaining degree requirements.
  4. Diploma Order Form: Review your personal information that it is correctly entered and spelled as this is what will be displayed on your official university diploma.
  5. Commencement: Confirm if you plan to attend the upcoming commencement ceremony.
  6. Review: Review the information you are about to submit as your Application for Graduation.
  7. Payment: Provide payment information to cover the non-refundable $50 graduation fee.

 

Diploma Information

Diplomas are sent in 12 ¾ x 15” white diploma mailers through USPS Certified Mail to the address indicated in your UH-Downtown student record, unless otherwise specified on the Diploma Order Form. If no one is available to sign for your diploma upon delivery, the USPS carrier will return it to the Post Office and hold for approximately four (4) weeks. If you are not able to pick-up your diploma from the Post Office within that time-frame, it will be returned to the UHD Registrar's Office. If your diploma is returned to UHD, please contact us by phone or via email prior to picking up your diploma so that we can ensure that the Post Office has delivered the diploma to the University. Once you receive confirmation that your diploma can be picked up from our office, please visit N330 and bring a valid government issued photo ID or your UHD ID card (GatorCard). Diplomas are available approximately three (3) months after the Official Close of the Semester.
