Jason Gay made the Dean's List last semester, but to look at him, to talk to him, most people wouldn't guess he was sitting in a prison cell not that long ago.
Jason has graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in supply chain management, and was deciding between two job offers, both directly related to his major and both resulting from contacts at the College of Business. "All my hard work is beginning to pay off," he said. "I am a very happy man right now." Such was not always the case.
"I will be forever indebted to this school for the person it has shaped me into…the good people I've come in contact with…the professors and staff…I even met my wife here," he said. "I don't think I'd have had the same outcome anywhere else."
Jason's journey to this realization about his potential really started in prison where he was doing time for involvement with drugs. When he got out, he started pursuing a college education.
"People at UHD want to see you succeed. They care about you and want you to succeed, but first you have to show some initiative to help yourself."
