Dr. Samson Moreno
Dr. Samson Moreno currently is a Lecturer at the University of Houston—Downtown. Dr. Moreno was a school administrator serving K-12 campuses, working closely with the community, supporting various programs to support students and promote community awareness of K-12 educational programs. Dr. Moreno participated in multiple outreach programs to promote awareness in the community for disadvantaged families and families of students in Special Education and ESL programs. Other programs included attendance recovery, reintegrating students from Disciplinary Alternative Education Programs back into their home campuses, and mentor programs as part of his role as a Campus Behavior Coordinator.
Dr. Moreno is published in articles regarding beginning teachers and specializes in supporting teacher candidates and beginning teachers. While working in public education, Dr. Moreno supported teachers and mentor programs at Roberson Middle School, which subsequently received the highest recognition from the United States Department of Education, known as the National Blue Ribbon Award. While in Spring ISD, Dr. Moreno was named teacher of the year prior to becoming an administrator, where he taught science, math, and physical education.
Dr. Moreno’s educational background includes a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University, a Masters in Education and Teacher Leadership from Lamar University, and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Houston Clear Lake.
