Speaker Ms. Kennedy Wallace

Kennedy Wallace is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design and the illustrious Prairie View A&M University. While attending SCAD, she earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Preservation Design and double minored in Design for Sustainability and Architectural History. Wallace earned a Master’s of Community Development degree from PVAMU, where she focused on community outreach and engagement, and worked as a Graduate Assistant researching Freedom Colonies in the city of Houston. She came to the Texas Historical Commission through the Preservation Scholar program, working with Texas Main Street to develop a DEI Toolkit. Currently, she works with a team at the Varner-Hogg and Levi Jordan Plantations and Sabine Pass Battleground where they utilize Community Development and Historic Preservation practices to help facilitate and interpret the tangible and intangible histories of the historic sites. In her current role as an Assistant Site Manager of two State Historic Sites, she not only manages daily operations, but she also helps advise programming for students, site interpretation, and community outreach.
