Below is a list of  UHD's top add-on tools installed in the Canvas Learn system. Operating seamlessly with the current Canvas version, these tools will enrich your students' online learning experience.

Panopto Logo

Panopto is a screen and lecture capture tool that facilitates the recording of your lectures on the screen with PowerPoint, Google Slides, and or any other websites you want to show. You can also create short concept videos for known issues with course concepts for students to review.

Perusall logo

Perusall is an e-reader platform that allows students and faculty to annotate assigned digital text.

Turnitin Framework logo

Turnitin is the leading academic plagiarism detector, utilized by teachers and students to avoid plagiarism and ensure academic integrity. Turnitin Plagiarism Framework integrates with Canvas Assignments.

Softchalk

SoftChalk is an e-learning authoring tool used to create and personalize content by mashing up your own materials with rich media (video, audio, images), interactive exercises, quizzes, and text.

Respondus

Respondus Quiz Builder is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed on paper or published directly to Canvas.

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Canvas. Students are locked into the assessment and are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications.

Respondus Monitor is included with LockDown Browser and allows instructors to require students to record themselves with Webcams while taking a test in order to detect and discourage cheating.

It requires students to use a web camera while taking online exams. With Lockdown Browser, students cannot navigate to other sites, instant messages, take screen captures, or send and receive emails. With Monitor, a student’s identity can be verified and their activity is video recorded during the exam. In short, Monitor can help fill the role of a proctor, deter cheating, and protect the integrity of online tests.

VoiceThread

VoiceThread is a tool that allows collaboration between faculty and students. Instructors can deliver their content using rich multimedia to enhance the engagement of their students. It allows audio, video, and text comments on uploaded documents, presentations, images, and videos. There are no new usernames or passwords to learn, and rosters are synced automatically. VoiceThread is making an asynchronous environment feel like an asynchronous environment.
