Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director, Center for Student Involvement and Leadership, the Coordinator oversees the general operations of the department and works collaboratively with students to create and maintain a vibrant and active campus life.
Duties
- Advises student leaders, boards, councils, and cabinets on organizational development, program planning, and fiscal operations for a variety of student clubs and organizations including academic, professional, social, political, honor, and special interest clubs.
- Serves as the designated advisor for the Student Government Association and/or Campus Activities Board.
- Supports student club and organization events, including events held after business hours, through training and consultation on issues related to contracts, budget, staffing, crowd management, general safety, and interpreting University/System policies.
- Facilitates and implements student leadership programs, orientations, workshops, retreats, and mediations.
- Monitors organizational budgets and fiscal operations of student clubs/organizations.
- Assists in the maintenance of required records for student clubs/organizations.
- Works closely with the Events and Conferences Office and all other service providers to oversee student club/organization event management needs.
- Engages in all functional areas of the department, including student involvement/activities/leadership/events, orientation, lounge management, community involvement, and leadership.
- Assists with maintaining and updating social media platforms for the department.
- Assists with conducting program evaluation(s) and student satisfaction surveys for the department's continuous improvement plans and reports.
- Serves on university and other committees as assigned by Director, Center for Student Involvement and Leadership.
Marginal Duties
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the Director and/or Associate Director, Director, Center for Student Involvement and Leadership.

Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience:
- Minimum of one (1) year of related job experience
License/Certification:
- None Required

- Experience working in higher education
- Experience with advising student clubs/organizations
- Experience with event planning and management
- Experience with marketing through social media

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of campus and community resources
- Demonstrated understanding of the issues faced by students who are members of underrepresented groups
- Demonstrated knowledge of student development theory
- Knowledgeable of social media uses in student activities including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
- General knowledge of sound systems, lighting systems, and other media equipment used in student events
- Knowledge in programming, even management, club advising and leadership development
