Job Summary
The Director, Career Development Center manages and oversees the strategic planning, development, and implementation of all aspects of a comprehensive, student-centered career-development facility for students and alumni within the College of Humanities & Social Sciences, College of Public Service, and College of Sciences & Technology.
Duties
- Oversees all departmental operations, including budgets, personnel, planning, and marketing career events, programs, and services.
- Ensures that all departmental staff are suitably trained.
- Collaborates with Academic, Student Success and Student Life, Enrollment Management, University Advancement administrators, faculty, and staff to develop, plan, and implement program opportunities to promote career awareness and prepare students for life inside and outside the classroom.
- Builds relationships and communicates with industry and community leaders to promote employment and internship opportunities for students; works to increase the quality and quantity of internship opportunities for students.
- Creates involvement opportunities for students within the university.
- Coaches, counsels, and provides resources to students and alumni; assists students to develop career goals and to understand the relationship between in-class, extracurricular, and experience-based learning.
- Conducts class presentations, workshops, events, and large and small group sessions as required.
- Develops and maintains information systems for managing records and data.
- Generates reports; develops career outcomes assessments, policies, and procedures; analyzes information for use in planning SACSCOC Accreditation.
- Develops and maintains employer relationships to expand the range of employer recruiting activities. Actively pursues college relations/recruiter contacts as well as other hiring sources for students and alumni.
- Maintains employer tracking data for monthly and annual reporting.
- Coordinates career development programs involving employers, including, but not limited to, career fairs, employer information sessions, employer tabling, networking, interviewing, and company tours.
- Manages employer and student access to CSM Jobs4Gators as well as employer information and approval of job and internship postings contained in the CSM system.

Qualifications
Required Education:
- Master's degree
Required Experience:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of related job experience
License/Certification:
- Must maintain a valid, current driver's license
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with career development for college students is an asset
- Experience working with underserved student populations is an asset
