Job Summary
Directs the planning, development, implementation and administration of business operations and financial oversight for the division and Provost Office, which may include financial and human resources management, procurement and contract administration, endowments and grant administration in close collaboration with the Executive Director of Financial Affairs.
Duties
- Directs oversight of financial, human resources, and grant administration activities and operations, including reviewing and approving expenditures and personnel documents for the division and Provost Office.
- Collaborates with division on overall planning and creation and implementation of the division's annual budget.
- Reviews budget and personnel reports submitted by business staff and conducts analyses and projections.
- Processes faculty appointments by reviewing, reconciling, reporting maintaining and implementing faculty personnel action and position data records in the HRMS database.
- Provides financial accountability and ensures compliance with state, university, and external funding agencies.
- Directs procurement operations, including contracts, purchasing, and travel.
- Provides oversight of administration of the division's accounting records, to include sponsored project accounts.
- Reviews and approves division college scholarship awards, ensuring that they meet donor requirements; provides oversight to ensure that applicable policies and guidelines are met.
- Oversees the administration of the human resource and payroll processes for the provost office, including position budget management and staff performance evaluation of business staff of the provost office.
- Supports recruitment processes by creating job descriptions for positions, resume screening, coordination of interviews, finalizing offers for faculty, staff and employee on-boarding in conjunction with Faculty Affairs and assists with immigration applications, visas, and visa extensions.
- Oversees the building, space management, key control, and physical inventory control processes related to provost office.
Marginal Duties
- Interprets university policies and procedures and arranges for staff training as appropriate.
- Establishes the work assignments of staff and provides guidance and training as needed.
- Serves on various university-wide and college committees as assigned.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree
Required Experience:
- Minimum of seven (7) years of related job experience

Knowledge:
- Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position
- Knowledge of higher education accounting practices, and an understanding of Research Administration and Compliance, as it pertains to higher education
- Advanced knowledge in Peoplesoft HR/Finance
