Job Summary

The Director of Post-Award for ORSP oversees all elements of post-award activity for the University including responsibility for the fiscal administration of all contacts and grants awarded by federal, state, and other sponsors.

Duties

  • Oversees developing and implementing internal operating procedures and assists with monitoring grant budget and expense activities; including reporting, proper documentation billings/receivables, collection of cash, award close outs and financial reporting to sponsors.
  • Oversees subcontract/contract agreements, assists with negotiation of terms and conditions, and communicates with university legal counsel regarding contract clause revisions.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory grant and contract requirements and collaborates with administrators within the Office of General Counsel to ensure all post-award activities are processed appropriately.
  • Negotiates between funding agency and faculty on post-award issues and concerns.
  • Maintains knowledge of current federal issues relating to grants and single audits of state, local government and non-profit organizations; interprets Office of Management and Budget (OMB) circulars for other agreements. Assists in the completion of all aspects of the annual OMB Circular A-133 audit report on federal awards.
  • Oversees development, modification, and instruction of research administration training for faculty and staff.
  • Collaborates with the Office of Research Policies, compliance and committees on matters related to grant congruency, financial conflict of interest, responsible conduct of research and regulatory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Master's degree

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related job experience

License/Certification:

  • None required

  • Leadership experience
  • Experience working with faculty on grant-related activities
  • NCURA certification
  • Experience with overseeing compliance

  • Up-to-date knowledge of federal grants and contract regulations, and the associated trends, issues, and accepted practices.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills to foster and maintain effective relationships with faculty, administration, and funders.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
