Job Summary

The Manager, Classroom Technology & Event Support manages services and access to technology in classrooms, and provides media support for non-classroom events, including, but not limited to, functions, live and virtual conferences, and seminars.

Duties

  • Manages integrated and network-based classroom technology services
  • Manages the full range of multimedia support for events, including coordinating technical matters with external media and reporting agencies
  • Manages and supervises staff
  • Oversees the operations and support of campus presentations facilities
  • Oversees the design and equipment selection for campus presentation facilities and equipment

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Video and Multimedia or a related field

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of related job experience

License/Certification:

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of a wide selection of digital and network services and equipment;
  • Knowledge of related trends and emerging audio visual technology;

    • up and operate a variety of audio, video, and lighting equipment; ability to integrate IT hardware with media;
  • Ability to manage people;

Work Location and Physical Demands

Primary Work Location:

  • Works in some or all of the following areas: office environment, lobby customer service island or reception area, computer laboratory, science laboratory, classroom, training room, auditorium, outdoor areas, gymnasium or other physical training rooms, attics, music room, and theatre.

Physical Demands:

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements; individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks
  • Position requires occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crawling, jumping, climbing, and reaching. Work involves occasional exposure to unpleasant elements, such as adverse weather conditions and extreme temperatures
  • May be required to work in a confined or windowless space or be exposed to the risk of an electric shock
  • May work near moving mechanical parts or be exposed to vibration
  • Must have good spatial awareness
  • Must have the ability to move items of up to 100lbs
