Scope of Responsibilities
At UHD, Mr. Cervenka oversees the development of annual gallery schedule, including curation, budgeting, shipping, marketing and fundraising. He also installs and removes art installations according to the specific requirements of each work. Mr. Cervenka trains staff to monitor the gallery and, when appropriate, to aid in handling the artwork. He oversees loan agreements and insurance certificates for exhibitions and provides discussions/lectures related to exhibitions for visitors and tours.
Educational Qualifications
Mr. Cervenka earned his Master of Fine Arts from Claremont Graduate University and Bachelor of Fine Art and Bachelor of English the University of Texas, Austin.
Professional Experience
Mr. Cervenka has 22 years of gallery curatorial and management experience. Prior to joining UHD, Mr. Cervenka managed the First Street Gallery Art Center in Claremont, California. Fifteen of his 22 years of experience has been at UHD directing the O'Kane Gallery. His experience also includes work for an artist in Los Angeles managing projects and builds throughout the world.
