A Texas-Sized Victory
Drumroll, please! We're excited to announce the fantastic news of the UHD Society for Human Resources Management Student Chapter's (SHRM) enormous success at the Texas SHRM Student Conference and Competition, held at the University of North Texas. On April 20, 2024, a team of five Gators challenged student teams from institutions like Texas A&M and University of Texas at San Antonio.
"This prestigious event assembled student teams to analyze a case study focusing on human resource management challenges at a fictional company," said Jorge Bautista, member of the UHD SHRM Student Chapter. "The participants were tasked with evaluating problematic employee behavior and its impact on team dynamics and productivity, devising strategies to address these issues, and assessing the potential benefits of training and coaching to enhance interpersonal skills."
Bautista, alongside teammates Yasmin Flores, Alejandro Martinez, Derrell Manor and Suheyli Sanches, combined diligent preparation with seamless teamwork to address real-world issues in HR. After an arduous competition, the team clinched first place, while the University of Texas at Dallas followed in second, and the University of Texas at San Antonio claimed third.
Join us in congratulating the UHD SHRM Student Chapter on their big win!
