On Wednesday, Feb. 26, Gator students, staff, and faculty, along with Houston law firms and law schools, will gather at the newly-christened UHD@1801 for the 2025 UHD Law Summit, a collaboration between UHD's Career Center, Office of the Provost, and local law firms seeking talented employees.
Through seminars, breakout sessions, and a job fair, the event will connect students with current members of a variety of disciplines (labor law, criminal law, immigration law, governmental and health law), as well as assist Gators with ongoing or future law school applications. The job fair will serve the law firms in attendance, as they'll have the chance to meet privately with potential candidates.
Emily Leffler, Executive Director of Academic Affairs, said the event will serve as a pipeline connecting UHD's talent to the local legal industry. "The event will bridge the gap between students' academic training and real-world legal careers," she said. "By showcasing opportunities in corporate law, criminal justice, and more, we're empowering students to launch their legal careers from right here in downtown Houston."
The event is free and open to all majors, and alumni are also welcome to attend. See below for more information.
