Saddle up, Gators! The University of Houston-Downtown's Week of Welcome kicks off with a rodeo-themed event at Marilyn Davies College of Business on Monday, Jan. 13 and Tuesday, Jan. 14. On Monday, Gators can expect a robust tabling resource fair featuring the college’s advising, tutoring, and student organizations, as well as the university’s Student Counseling Services and Basic Needs Center. Students who attend will enjoy free food and the opportunity to enter a raffle contest to win two Mariachi Concert Tickets or four Ground pass tickets for the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show’s Go Tejano Day on March 16, 2025.  

Hold on to your hats! The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (HLSR) comes to UHD from 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, at MDCOB. In addition to a tabling resource fair, the HLSR Go Tejano and Scholarship Committees offer Gators an opportunity to explore volunteer positions, scholarships, and more. If that doesn’t rope you in, the event promises line dancing, a Rodeo Clown, a cowboy, and finally, Howdy, the mascot.
