Over the past few weeks, first-year and senior UHD students have been asked to share their college experiences through the National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE). Now, the faculty’s perspective, through the Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE), is needed to complement this data.

About FSSE

FSSE measures faculty’s expectations for student engagement in educational practices that are empirically linked with high levels of learning and development, and it is closely aligned with the NSSE survey students are currently taking.

UHD faculty’s perspective is essential for interpreting NSSE results and identifying areas for improvement. The faculty’s insights play a crucial role in shaping the educational experiences UHD provides to its students.

Faculty who have taught undergraduate courses during the 2024-2025 academic year will be invited to participate in the FSSE.

Survey Schedule

Faculty members will receive an email invitation with a unique link to access the survey. The FSSE will send the invitation and follow-up reminders according to the following schedule:

  • Invitation: Tuesday, March 25
  • Reminder 1: Monday, March 31
  • Reminder 2: Thursday, April 3
  • Final Reminder: Wednesday, April 9
  • Survey Close: Monday, May 12

Impact of Your Feedback

The faculty’s feedback will directly influence the university’s strategies to enhance teaching practices, curriculum development, and overall student engagement. This collaborative effort ensures that UHD continues to provide a high-quality educational environment. Faculty members are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to provide their perspectives and help identify areas of strength and improvement, leading to constructive discussions related to teaching, learning, and the quality of UHD students’ educational experience.
