Spring 2024 Courses 

This session will introduce you to the following: UHD classroom scheduling protocols, classroom schedule production schedule, section creation, combining sections, waitlist functionality, data query and interpretation, and scheduling multi-component courses. This training requires written approval from your Department Chair (you must be in a role that requires you to edit class section data to take this class for security access purposes). Upon completion of training you will be eligible for security access to PS Class Schedule.

In this session, Enrollment Management student workers will receive an overview of FERPA, the FERPA process at UHD, and hear FERPA best practices when working with students and patrons, as well as best practices for document intake and processing. Student workers will also receive training on best customer services approaches and practices, related to the various modalities students and patrons may contact us in.

Designed for departmental schedulers with security access to edit the academic schedule in PeopleSoft.  This session will review the requirements for combining course sections ("crosslisting"), how to uncombine, and how to update sections that are contained in a combination without losing data.

This typically involves associating a lecture to a lab. Session will also cover how to combine multi-component courses so that students can sign up for a single lecture but choose the lab day.

The American Association of Collegiate Registrar’s and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) Senior Fellow LeRoy Rooker is the nation’s leading authority on the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, a comprehensive federal law that provides privacy protections for student’s education records.

As the Director of the Department of Education’s Family Policy Compliance Office (FPCO) for 21 years, Mr. Rooker administered laws and policies designed to help protect the rights of America’s 58 million students. Mr. Rooker is well known in the postsecondary world due to his extensive outreach to the higher education community while at the Department of Education, as well as his numerous presentations at the national, state, and regional levels. Mr. Rooker is also a lead editor of the National AACRAO FERPA Guide.

In this UHD presentation, Mr. Rooker will walk staff through an overview of FERPA, its application to various scenarios, as well as engage in a question and answer session with staff regarding specific UHD situations.

Canva is a collaborative, graphic design tool that provides access to an expansive library of graphics. Multiple contributors can work together to create content. Development is well underway, and the launch of the new ApplyTexas System is quickly approaching. The new system will launch on July 1, 2024, for the 2025-2026 academic year application cycle. Between now and July, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) will provide regular updates to prepare our institutional partners for the launch.
