UHD MBA Celebrates Women's History Month with East End Chamber of Commerce

The UHD MBA program was proud to participate and be a part of the 2023 Women in Business Luncheon presented by the East End Chamber of Commerce. This annual event is an opportunity to connect, learn and grow with local women business leaders & entrepreneurs. The event featured a wide-ranging panelist discussion with local women business leaders & entrepreneurs Victoria Chen, Tifanie Steele, Raquel Boujourne, Mayra Moreno and moderator Denise Hamilton.

Women's History Month is an opportunity to recognize the contributions of women throughout history and their impact on society. One area in which women have made significant strides in recent years is business. From pioneering entrepreneurs to today's corporate leaders, women have proven themselves to be more than capable and highly influential in the world of business.

Sadia RavateFellow UHD MBA Student and Graduate Assistant Sadia Ravate represented our program at the Women in Business Luncheon. She shared her experience with us in which she got to hear from inspiring panelists who are shaping and innovating the business landscape of Houston. “This was my second year attending the Houston East End Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Luncheon. I had a great time hearing & learning from inspiring women who are changing the ever-evolving industries of Houston.” said Sadia Ravate - MBA Supply Chain Management 23’

Organizations such as the East End Chamber of Commerce understand the important of building partnerships and opening doors to women who may not otherwise have access to which in turn helps their business grow through networking and connecting with more women starting their own businesses and rising to top positions in corporations. However, there is still much work to be done to ensure that women have equal opportunities and representation in the business world. Women represent 63% of our MBA Program, we recognize this and invite aspiring women business professionals & entrepreneurs to join their ranks with a UHD MBA. Women's History Month is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women in business and to recognize the ongoing efforts in our community to promote equality and diversity.

We want to wish our UHD MDCOB community a Happy Women’s History Month. We can reflect on this time to support our rising UHD MBA women business students and business professionals by advocating for equal pay and opportunities, and encouraging young women to pursue careers in business so that they may shatter glass ceilings and open new opportunities to the next generation of women business professionals.
