Scholarships are a great way to help you pay for your college education

At UHD, Marilyn Davies College of Business (MDCOB) students can choose to apply for four different types of scholarships:

  1. Scholarships awarded by the MDCOB Scholarship Committee

    The Marilyn Davies College of Business Scholarships for 2023-24 is open from November 15th through March 21st. Applications will be reviewed by the scholarship committee in May 2023, and decisions will be communicated in June 2023. To complete and submit your application, fill out UHD Marilyn Davies College of Business 2023-24 Scholarship Online Application. Students will need to log in using UHD network username and password.

IMPORTANT: A student's financial aid package cannot exceed the cost of attendance established by the University. If the sum of your awards (grants, scholarships, loans) exceeds your tuition and fee bill, a credit is applied to your student account, and a refund may be issued through the University's refund vendor. 

Graduate Assistantships are available every semester
The Marilyn Davies College of Business (COB) provides currently enrolled graduate business students with an opportunity to experience a graduate assistantship to earn a monthly stipend in exchange for service. 
 
The College of Business has openings available for the 2022-2023 academic year.  Assistantships are for a minimum of one semester and may be extended to a second semester. 
 
Graduate assistants are non-tenure and not-tenure track registered graduate students in good academic standing who work up to 20 hours per week during the academic year in support of the educational mission of the University. 
 
An assistantship position provides students with financial support in the form of a monthly stipend of $1,200 in exchange for up to 20 hours a week of service. Assistantship positions are available as a Graduate Teaching Assistant or a Graduate Administrative Assistant. Descriptions and qualifications are as follows: 
 


Graduate Teaching Assistant (TA) – As a graduate TA, UHD graduate students have direct student contact in a formal instructional setting but do not have primary responsibility for teaching a course for credit or student assessment. A TA performs under an instructor’s direct supervision and provides general assistance to the instructional process. Duties assigned as a TA could include attending classes, grading homework assignments, holding office hours, tutoring students, mentoring students, assisting with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program during the spring semester, or conducting other activities that support the instructional mission of the University. 
 
Qualifications: 
  • Must be admitted to and enrolled in the COB MBA or MPAC program and have completed at least 12 semester hours with a minimum GPA of 3.50. 
  • Must have at least 18 hours of coursework remaining before their planned graduation. 
  • Must be currently enrolled in at least six (6) semester hours and maintain a good academic standing. 
  • Strong time management, organization, critical thinking, and collaborative spirit. 
  • Must be committed to professional development and continuous growth.

Graduate Administrative Assistant, MBA Office
 – A graduate administrative assistant participates in the instructional process for a department or program under the supervision of an appointed supervisor. Duties vary, depending on the administrative needs of the department. He or she may engage in course preparation, undertake program-related assignments, serve in potential recruiting events to help represent the college, or engage in other instructional related duties as specified by the department or program. Must be committed to professional development and continuous growth. 
 
Qualifications: 
  • Must be admitted to the COB MBA or MPAC program and have completed at least 6 semester hours with a minimum GPA of 3.00. 
  • Must have at least 18 hours of coursework remaining before their planned graduation. 
  • Must be currently enrolled in at least six (6) semester hours and maintain a good academic standing. 
  • Strong time management, organization, critical thinking, and collaborative spirit.

Graduate Administrative Assistant, MDCOB Career Center – A graduate administrative assistant participates in the instructional process for a department or program under the supervision of an appointed supervisor. He or she may engage in course preparation, undertake program-related assignments, serve in potential recruiting events to help represent the college, or engage in other instructional related duties as specified by the department or program..

Graduate Administrative Assistant, MDCOB Web Support-  A graduate administrative assistant participates in the instructional process for a department or program under the supervision of an appointed supervisor. Duties vary, depending on the administrative needs of the department. He or she may engage in course preparation, undertake program-related assignments, serve in potential recruiting events to help represent the college, or engage in other instructional related duties as specified by the department or program.
