This one-day conference will feature a Crunk Feminist Collective Roundtable, UHD Alumni/Student
Panel, UHD Faculty Women of Color Panel, and lectures with guests from the Crunk Feminist
Collective:
- Dr. Robin M. Boylorn, Associate Professor of Interpersonal and Intercultural Communication at the University of Alabama and co-author of The Crunk Feminist Collection (The Feminist Press 2017).
- Dr. Sheri Davis-Faulkner, Senior Program Director for WILL Empower (Women Innovating Labor Leadership) with the Center for Innovation in Worker Organization in the School of Management and Labor Relations at Rutgers University.
- Dr. Rachel Raimist, Associate Professor of Media Production at the University of Alabama and award-winning filmmaker.
The goal of this timely conference is to encourage college enrollment, retention,
and graduation of women of color students. Admissions counselors and advisors will
be present to assist students with admissions and enrollment questions. Students will
walk away with an increased consciousness of what feminist activism looks like and
why it is important.
Scholarships will be available for eligible students who attend this conference and
enroll fulltime at UHD.
