Professional Development Sequence for Teacher Certification
The Urban Education Teacher Preparation program is organized into four phases/professional
development (PD) semesters: PD1, PD2, PD3 and PD4. Participation in the professional development sequence requires admission to the
Teacher Preparation Program in the Department of Urban Education. The PD sequence
requires concurrent enrollment in a set of four courses, and in order to successfully
complete each PD semester, students must demonstrate mastery of the content. The PD
sequence also includes three semesters of field work.
