Continuing Students Scholarships
UHD does not have a scholarship application process, candidates are selected based on information obtained from our Student Record system. Candidate award selections are based on students' academic merit and hours earned at the end of the Fall semester preceding the upcoming academic year.
Eligible students with the highest ranking at the time of the selection processing will be given priority. Scholarship candidates must meet the following requirements to be considered for a UHD Continuing Scholarship:
- Completion of 45 UHD GPA college credit hours; at the end of the fall term.
- Students who have earned more than 85 cumulative college credit hours by the end of the fall term are ineligible.
- Candidates must have a UHD GPA of 3.2 or higher.
- May be renewable up to 1 semester during the spring term, if all requirements are met. Each candidate’s UHD GPA and hours earned will be reviewed at the end of the fall term to determine if renewable for the spring term. Award recipients must have earned 12 college credits for the full-time scholarship and at least 6 hours for the part-time scholarship each term to be eligible for spring renewal.
- This scholarship will be forfeited, if all requirements are not met. Once the award has been forfeited due to insufficient hours earned and/or low GPA, the award cannot be recovered in the future.
The General Scholarship Committee will approve candidates based on academic merit. Scholarship candidates are selected based on the academic history obtained from the UHD Student Record system in January, before the upcoming academic year.
Candidates are not eligible to simultaneously receive another UHD Institutional renewable scholarship. However, students may receive the Red Rose Scholarship and/or departmental scholarships in addition to a UHD Continuing Student scholarship award.
