Dawana Lewis
Scope of Responsibilities
At UHD, Ms. Lewis is responsible for developing proposals for continued funding and evaluating program performance. She plans and implements all phases of the program including student recruitment, curriculum development and documentation procedures. Ms. Lewis generates annual reports for the Department of Education, formulates yearly budget as well as maintains liaison with other college components and community agencies. Ms. Lewis is also responsible for the implementation and assessment of strategic plan initiatives for the division and assessment of student learning outcomes including data collection and analysis.
Educational Qualifications
Ms. Lewis earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Roosevelt University and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Education from Howard University. Her certifications include: Illinois Teaching License, 1977.
Professional Experience
Ms. Lewis has more than 30 years of experience in management, administration, higher education, counseling and instruction. She also has more than 31 years of student affairs leadership experience.
