The University of Houston-Downtown is committed to expanding educational access and creating transformational opportunities for all students. Understanding the need to support students that may not conform to the traditional student mold, UHD introduced the Summer Bridge Program. 

 

The Summer Bridge Program integrates an intrusive model of academic support and necessary support services to assist students in their transition from high school to college. Through this program students begin their academic journey at UHD by enrolling in college level courses. Additionally, students benefit from the programming in between courses that includes intrusive academic support in and outside of the classroom, student success services, career counseling, and leadership training. 

 

The commitment of our first cohort of Summer Bridge Program students is a testament to their desire to transform their lives with a higher education degree.
