George Awde: His Passing Cover

In conjuntion with the 2014 Fotofest Biennial, O'Kane Gallery at the University of Houston-Downtown will present, George Awde: His Passing Cover from March 19 - April 17. Awde's photographs of young Syrian men and boys, in Lebanon, are both meditative and revealing.
His Passing Cover explores questions of masculinity, kinship and passage into adulthood. George Awde currently resides in Qatar as an assistant professor of photography at Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. He earned his MFA in photography from Yale University.
