Alumni Profile: Mariselle Quijano
If you walk into McDonald’s at the corner of Fairmont Parkway and Preston Road in Pasadena, don’t be surprised when the friendly face of the franchise owner greets you at the counter.
University of Houston-Downtown alumna Mariselle Quijano is owns 27 McDonald’s restaurants, located in Houston, Pasadena, Pearland, Galena Park, League City, Friendswood and Webster. Running the franchises is a family affair as her parents, Nelly and Dominic, opened their first local restaurant in 1984 in Houston’s East End on Harrisburg Blvd.
