Policies Under Review

Policy Statements currently under review will be featured on this page. These include proposed changes to current Policy Statements,  proposed new Policy Statements, and proposed rescissions to Policy Statements.

While Policy Statements are under the status marked "UHD Community Review," you are welcome to submit comments to: policy@uhd.edu.

Types of Policy Review

• Interim Issuance = A new policy statement is being created or revisions to an existing policy statement are being made due to a regulatory, accreditation, or other pressing need. The full review process will commence as soon as practicable.
• Legal Changes = Changes are being made due to changes in legislation or other higher authority.
• Housekeeping Changes = Non-substantive changes are being made by the policy team or a SME that do not affect the content of the policy, including, but not limited to, updating broken links, punctuation, misspellings, page numbering, etc.
• Minor Changes = Minor changes are being made by a SME to update a process or procedure, or to better align the policy statement with other policy statements, SAMs, or Board rules. The changes do not affect the purpose and meaning of the policy statement.
• Scheduled Revisions = The policy statement is undergoing a full review in accordance with the policy statement’s typical review schedule.
• New Policy = A new policy is being created and is undergoing a full review.

Status Notes

• SME Review = Period for Subject Matter Experts to review comments and modify policy, if appropriate
• Legal Review = Period during which policy is reviewed by the Office of General Counsel to ensure compliance with all relevant state and federal laws and regulations and UHS policies and procedures
• UHD Community Review = Comment period during which members of the UHD community may submit written feedback on proposed policy changes to policy@uhd.edu
• Preparation for Final Review = All policy documents are being prepared to submit to approving authority
• Pending Final Approval = Period during which policy is waiting for final approval and signatures by approving authority
