Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Hanjin Mao
Dr. Hanjin Mao has implemented Experiential Philanthropy in one of her undergraduate courses. A service-learning pedagogy that has been adopted by many universities across the country and globally, Dr. Mao is the first one to adopt it in the Houston area. Students act like philanthropists by giving grants to local nonprofits, and they study these nonprofits and social issues and then decide where to invest funds.
